What are you reading? August, 2008,

I just finished a wonderful book called The First Time, by Joy Fielding. This book starts out as a woman finds out about her husband's latest affair.  It's a very good human interest story and very touching.

The First Time

I am currently reading Ed McBain's Romance.  Mr. McBain's books about the fictitious 84Th precinct are very funny, very quirky and often very touching.

Romance

I am also attempting to read Dog Training for Dummies!

Dog Training For Dummies (For Dummies (Pets))

I have been having trouble getting the little button to pop up so people can join the group.  The icon isn't there.  I reported it to Active Rain and they say that it's not on my page because I am the moderator.  If you would like to join the group and find you can not because the link isn't there, please contact active rain.  I would really appreciate it.

Hi Susan, my wife is a big Joy Fielding fan so I think we'll be at Barnes and Noble tomorrow. My latest book (from Mr. Non-fiction) is What Got You Here Won't Get You There, by Marshall Goldsmith. It's about being even more successful. I need to shift over to your fiction side of the world to stop being so darn practical all the time ; ) I read all the Dummies books I can. I naturally qualify of course : )

I had to stop by and make a comment. I see that you liked "A lesson before dying too". I really like that book. Have a great weekend.

Susan...

I was able to join without a problem, but I guess now I'll have to read something. I usually do Sudoku in my limited spare time!

Hi Susan Since I am a Realtor and I love to read I will join this group.  Let me know if you get anywhere with the dog training book.  My Carolina could use some help, or is it me that needs the help.  She seems fine with the way she is, LOL

Susan, keep us posted about the dog training book. If you visit my blog, you can see my latest episode with one of my dogs. Her training is a real challenge.

Hi Susan, The link worked fine....but I'm not a Realtor.   So I wondered if I should leave the group?  I have been asked to leave several realtor sites so I'm trying to be VERY CAREFUL here :)

Susan, You're a sweetheart!  You don't have to change the name, just let the others know they can post too....I've been booted from some groups so I tread VERY CAREFULLY from now on!

I attempted to read "think and grow rich" for a second time in July.... And was just bored with it. .... It was like reading the little engine that could, OVER and OVER again!..

I put it down and ended up reading "Fastnet Force 10" about a Sailboat race in the 1970s when a big storm blew in... Much more entertaining!

What a great post and thanks for the link to the group.  I read all the time and didn't realize there was a group for readers.  I will share some after I join the group but for now, I am reading a book called Joshua by a man named Joseph Girzone.  Really a great read about how to live with others who are a little different.

Currently trying to get through Lest Innocent Blood be Shed.  It's kind of annoyingly talking about how Protestant the minister was, rather than what was done in the town to harbor Jewish people during German occupation.  But I'm hanging in there!
