I had a busy weekend planned. I had a listing appointment on Saturday in Springfield, Delaware County. The client and I were going to discuss the market value of her home and also potential homes that she might consider retiring to. There are many over 55 communities in the area and we were going to be spending time discussing them.
On Sunday, I had an open house planned. 1 to 3, to beat the football games.
The old saying when man plans, God laughs is never truer than in Real Estate!
My Saturday appointment called me to say that her driveway wasn't plowed and we would need to reschedule. That's actually okay because I have another client I am going to call on in Springfield while I am there next week.
My open house at 718 Morgan Circle was simply not to be. Because the weather forecast downplayed the snow somewhat, the seller did not have a chance to have the driveway shoveled or plowed. I took a ride out there today and the driveway was a sheet of ice. I didn't want folks tramping around this lovely home with snowy feet but I also didn't want anyone falling down and getting hurt so I made an executive decision to reschedule until next Sunday. Please mark your calendars.... 1/29/12 from 2 to 4! See you there!

weather can do that. But better safe than sorry. I'm ready for spring flowers myself, Makes our homes so pretty.
Susan, Weather can make the business interesting! We've driven through some pretty good snow accumulations to get to appointments, and at other times had to say "nevermind", just too risky to be out today :) There's always next week!
Susan,
If there is anything I've learnded over the years, real estate agents have to be flexible to schedule changes.
Rich
I know what you mean, Susan. Today we have ice covered by snow. What a mess. There is always tomorrow!

Tammy, from your mouth to God's ears! I'm ready for spring too!
Liz and Bill, I try to be practical when it comes to the weather. Sometimes you've got to say no in the interest of safety.
Rich, you can say that again!
Don, tomorrow is another day!
Hannah next weekend I will be there holding an open house!
Jared, thank you!!
Nate, shhhh..... never tempt fate!
Susan, One of the things that we can never control is the weather. Hope you enjoyed your surprise "free" day.
Well looks like it turned into a "Snow Day" of sorts for you. Better safe than sorry.
Thanks for commenting on my blog about Christine's "almost-millionaire" status.
Judi, I did enjoy it!
Michelle, you are right. So much better to be safe than in a snow bank!
